Which Course is Right for me?

The information on this page will signpost you to specific courses depending on what your learning needs are.

For all staff who have contact with patients and service users with dementia

LEaD has identified the staff who require this training and added a ‘button’ to their training record. 

You can attend either:

  • Dementia awareness (half day) 4 hour face to face course. Person centred care for people who have dementia. (This will update your training record and turn your 'button'green).  

Or complete the 3 e - learning modules:


You Must Complete:

Dementia awareness e-assessment (Tier 1) successfully for your training record to be updated and your 'button' to turn green.

Resources

Barbara’s Story (an award winning dementia awareness film developed by St Thomas’s & Guys Hospital) is also available to watch from the LEaD website. This and other  learning resources for dementia are being developed but you must complete the e-assessment in order to update your training record

 

For clinical staff that work in inpatient and community services and provide care for patients or service users e.g. patients with diabetes or respiratory disease but may also have a diagnosis of dementia.

You can either complete the 9 e-learning modules:


Or watch the 6 dementia videos, a combination of both will fully support your successful completion of the e-assessment.
